Readings
Assigned in class and expected to be completed by the following class. Students are responsible for the assigned readings.

Problem Sets
Assigned about every two weeks, these are the core learning experience of the course. Students may work on the problem sets with classmates, but are required to write up solutions on their own. Students must hand in their problem sets themselves and on time. Late problem sets will only be accepted with prior approval of instructor.

Exams
Traditional in-class exams. The final exam will be cummulative.

Final Project
A 30-minute photonics research presentation given to the class. Omitted for students enrolled in Physics 532.
