21227 100Workshop (2 Units)Open2 / 10Brooke LehmannFr 2:00PM - 4:30PMRuffner Hall 123
Students in this clinic will work on the current social policy priorities of this Congress and Administration. Our work with clients will focus on health care and welfare policies (among others) and how current federal legislation impacts the often precarious populations who are served by these policy constructs. Throughout this 10-week clinic, students not only become familiar with advocacy activities related to Congressional reforms currently underway but also are integrated into real-time research and analyses of the efficacy of legislative practices, processes, and policies. Students will produce work that supports particular advocacy initiatives, including for example, informative one-pagers for congressional staff briefings. To every extent possible, students will have the opportunity witness hearings/debates and other related congressional events, as well as propose policy solutions directly to participating clients. Finally, whenever feasible, a trip to Washington, D.C. will enable students to put their efforts into action.

Are you a student interested in the application of data to global challenges? Do you want to take a class that makes you work with ambiguity and tackle complex challenges were the solutions are not clear?

Based on our work, these donors will invest upward of several million dollars to early childhood programs over the next 10 years.
